James Gibbs is a native to West Texas, specifically Lubbock, Texas. Since a small age he knew he wanted to be a lawyer to help others and make changes in society. He went to Coronado High School and succeeded in football and received a scholarship to Abilene Christian University to play as a Safety. There he received his B.A in Political Science and then went to Texas Tech University and received his J.D. and M.B.A. While at Texas Tech University he worked as an intern with the Athletic Department Office of Compliance. After graduating James started his solo practice, James O. Gibbs Law Firm.
